Have you updated your appraisal

Have you updated your appraisal?

If you have a lot of gold jewelry that you may have bought when the price of gold was lower, this would be a good time to get your jewelry appraised. Lets say you bought your gold when the price per once was $600.00, today the price per once is $1,108.00 an once. That is a huge price jump, and many of us forget that about the gold jewelry that we have in our jewelry box. You should have all your jewelry appraised not just the gem stone jewelry. Lets say you appraised your gold at the old price, and that gold jewelery was stolen you would only get the old price, (the price that gold was at when your appraisal was written). In this area we have so many people who by high karat gold jewelery, and many do not even think about having their gold appraised, and added to their home owners insurance, do not make this mistake.

Even if you have mortgaged your jewelry long back, its a good time to get back your gold, sell it for double the price ( well, almost ) and pay back any loan.

Here in my place, people keep the jewelry with Jewelers and do not sell them, so that they can later on take back their jewelry when needed. In return they take a loan and pay interest. But 99% of the time it happens that people end up paying up twice the amount of their jewelry and are not even able to take back their gold. Hence my advice.

We call this pawning, we do have one jewelry store that does pawn jewelery we never have done this, and never will, in our store it is cash only. The amount of money that people end up paying to get their item out of pawn is much more then double, we have had several people come in with their jewelery still in the pawn envelopes. When we see what they have had to pay to get it back we are all ways shocked, this is not something that we recommend anyone to do.
